When Kim Kardashian was held up at gunpoint earlier this month, the burglars stole a lot more than jewelry. While the media reported the loss of millions of dollars' worth of fine gems, rings and necklaces, few mentioned the most valuable thing the robbers took -- the reality TV star's sense of safety and security.
Now that a few weeks have passed, we're finally starting to see the impact of that terrible night in Paris. In a completely understandable move, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has decided to cancel her scheduled birthday party at Hakkasan on October 28. She will instead stay home and celebrate her 36th birthday with close friends and family, opting for a much more low-key affair.
For their part, Hakkasan has taken the cancelation in stride and October 28 will now feature a return appearance by The Chainsmokers, whose song Closer featuring Halsey is currently sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100. That weekend will also feature Tiesto w/ Dzeko and Torres on October 29 and Calvin Harris w/ Generik on October 30.
While disappointing, this cancelation is certainly understandable. Here's hoping that Kim will return to Las Vegas for her 37th birthday in 2017.
