Taking inspiration from the long-lost music hubs of yesteryear, On the Record is Park MGM's brand-new speakeasy and nightclub. Tucked away inside what looks like a vintage music store, this playful venue is a multilayered entertainment space with a hip design that blends drinking, dancing and socializing to create a love letter to an era before MP3 players and downloadable music.
The brainchild of Jonnie and Mark Houston, On the Record is the first foray into the Las Vegas nightlife scene for the Los Angeles twins. Their hard work has led to an 11,000 square foot hotspot that includes three karaoke rooms, a patio with a double-decker bus, a speakeasy and a main room with a DJ booth fashioned from a Rolls-Royce. The space is outfitted with speakers, TV screens, cassette tapes and everything else you would expect from a 20th century record store.
Although music and style are front and center, the Houston brothers have created a club for anybody who likes to explore and discover. From the authentic décor to the hidden VIP room to a reservation-only speakeasy inside a speakeasy, there's a whole world to uncover in this modestly-sized venue. And that doesn't even include the living room space with a fireplace or the vinyl parlor. Music lovers-unite, because On the Record Speakeasy and Club hits all the right notes.
