Cabo Sunset Cruises and Party Boats 2026
The party side of Cabo's water: sunset cruises to El Arco, private booze cruises and party boats, what they cost, and how to book one for your group.
Why we wrote this guide
A sunset cruise in Cabo San Lucas is the easy yes of the whole trip. The sun drops straight into the Pacific off Land's End, the light turns the El Arco rock arch gold, and you watch all of it from your own deck with a drink in hand. This is the party side of Cabo's water: sunset sails, booze cruises and private party boats, as opposed to the daytime snorkel-and-charter run we cover in the Cabo yacht charter guide. Here we get into what a Cabo sunset cruise and a party boat actually deliver, what they cost, and how to book one that fits your group.
Every trip is arranged through our vetted Los Cabos partner on the water, so the boat, the crew and the bar are handled end to end. Browse the fleet and request a quote on the Cabo yacht page.
The sunset cruise
The classic. A two-hour golden-hour sail out to El Arco and back, timed so you round Land's End as the sky goes pink. On a private boat you skip the crowded 100-person catamarans and set your own playlist and pace. It suits everything from a couples' anniversary to a small group warming up before dinner, and it is the single most photogenic hour in Cabo. Most sunset cruises run two to three hours and leave the marina in the late afternoon.
Party boats and booze cruises
When the point is the party, not the postcard, you want a wider boat and an open bar. A private booze cruise or party boat gives you a DJ or a Bluetooth deck, a stocked bar, shade, a swim platform and room to move. Catamarans are the pick here: the flat, stable decks hold a crowd, and you can jump off the back into the Sea of Cortez between rounds. These are day-drinking boats as much as sunset boats, so you can run one midday, pull into a swimmable cove, and cruise back at dusk.
Bachelor and bachelorette parties on the water
Cabo is a top bachelor and bachelorette destination, and a private party boat is the centerpiece move. A catamaran or sport yacht for the afternoon, an open bar, a swim stop at Santa Maria or Chileno Bay, and the marina waiting when you come in for the night. Pair the boat with a Cabo luxury villa for the group and a table that night through our Cabo nightlife guide, and the whole weekend books through one concierge.
What it costs and what is included
Party boats and sunset cruises are priced by the hour and by the boat. Small open cruisers for a sunset sail start around 150 to 400 dollars an hour; mid-size sport yachts and catamarans built for a group run roughly 650 to 1,800 dollars an hour, and the big crewed catamarans and superyachts go up from there. Most trips book in two to four hour blocks. Crewed boats typically include the captain and deckhand and fuel for a standard route, and the larger ones bundle an open bar and water toys. When you request a quote, confirm whether drinks, Mexican tax and the crew tip are in the rate, and the maximum head count, since some boats charge per guest above a set number.
How to book
Tell us your date, group size and the kind of trip, a quiet sunset sail for two or a full party boat with a DJ, and our Los Cabos partner matches you to the right boat and confirms a tailored quote, usually within 24 hours. Start on the Cabo yacht page. For the how-to-charter detail, boat-by-boat sizes and routes, see the Cabo yacht charter guide.
Where the night goes after the cruise
Sunset cruises dock back into the marina with the evening still ahead of you. From there it is
a short walk to Mandala or
El Squid Roe for the night, or, if your cruise wraps
early, Tamara on the beach stays open until 7 PM.
