Best of Vegas This Weekend: Aoki, Tiesto, and a Cooler Kind of Heat Aug 21-23
Chris Lake and Steve Aoki anchor OMNIA, Tiesto takes the newly opened OMNIA Dayclub, and LIV brings Ty Dolla $ign to the Strip across a loaded late-August weekend.
Late August in Las Vegas runs hot and unhurried, the kind of desert heat that pushes the smart crowd into the water by noon and keeps the terraces open past sunrise. This weekend the marquee names are stacked deep: Chris Lake and Steve Aoki trade nights at OMNIA, Tiesto headlines the newly opened OMNIA Dayclub, and Fontainebleau pulls a genre-jumping crowd with Ty Dolla $ign live at LIV. Across the Strip the pool decks are the main event by day and the rooms only get louder after dark. Here is how to sequence it, from Friday's first pour to Sunday's slow fade.
Friday night
Omnia at Caesars opens the weekend with Chris Lake, whose tech-house command under the kinetic chandelier is exactly the sound that room was built for. This is a confident, groove-forward night that fills fast, so arrive with a plan. Book dinner steps away across the bridge at Pinky Ring at Bellagio, where Bruno Mars' band plays live, then walk over primed for the main floor.
LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau counters with Matroda, a bass-house set that hits harder as the night deepens. Keep the evening on-property with an early table at Komodo at Fontainebleau, the Miami import whose lantern-lit dining room is a scene of its own before you head upstairs.
EBC at Night turns the Encore pool into an open-air room for The Chainsmokers, a big-tent night under summer stars. Anchor it with dinner at PISCES Bar and Seafare at Wynn, Chef Heller's bi-level seafood room, before crossing to the deck.
For a change of register, Zouk at Resorts World hosts WAX MOTIF and his low-slung house sound, while Marquee Nightclub at Cosmopolitan runs Levi across its two levels and Strip-facing terrace. Pair Marquee with an earlier seat at Catch at Aria, a short walk down the center Strip.
Saturday - day to night
Saturday belongs to the water. The headline booking is Tiesto at Omnia Dayclub at Caesars, the property's newly opened deck, and it is the reason to be poolside by early afternoon. Elsewhere the slate is deep: Marshmello lands at Encore Beach Club, Sidepiece brings the groove to LIV Beach at Fontainebleau, Afrojack takes Tao Beach at Venetian, and Louis the Child plays Marquee Dayclub at Cosmopolitan. For a mellower daytime pour, Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria runs DJ Buza, and Zedd headlines Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM.
When the sun drops, Omnia at Caesars reclaims the night with Steve Aoki, still one of the most kinetic performers on the Strip. Precede it with a table at Pinky Ring at Bellagio, steps away across the bridge.
LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau delivers the weekend's genre swing with Ty Dolla $ign live, a hip-hop and R&B crowd that skews stylish. Keep it in-house with dinner first at Komodo at Fontainebleau.
For a different tempo, Tao Nightclub at Venetian runs Cutswell beneath the giant Buddha, an easy pair with a Venetian dinner and open-late energy. Prefer live musicianship over a DJ booth? Pinky Ring at Bellagio is a lounge worth staying in all night.
Sunday wind-down
Ease back in at Encore Beach Club, where Loud Luxury closes the pool weekend with polished, melodic house and a lower gear than Saturday's crush. Steady the day with a seafood lunch at PISCES Bar and Seafare at Wynn beforehand.
If you still have a night in you, DESEO: Latin Sundays at OMNIA is the Strip's best Sunday reset, all rhythm and no rush. For a quieter finish, settle into Pinky Ring at Bellagio and let the live band carry the evening out.
The pre-game
The right table sets the tone for everything after it. For pure Fontainebleau synergy before LIV, Komodo at Fontainebleau is theatrical and unhurried, built for a long first act. Wynn loyalists heading to XS or the Encore decks should book PISCES Bar and Seafare at Wynn for Chef Heller's raw bar and dry-aged fish. And on the Aria side, Catch at Aria remains a room built to be looked at, with sushi and steak that hold their own against any club night to follow.
