How EDC week flows in Las Vegas: the pools that anchor Friday to Sunday, the real 2026 lineup, and why the clubs quiet down at night.

EDC Las Vegas is a festival at the Motor Speedway, but for most people who made the trip, the weekend was really two events stacked on top of each other: the raceway at night, and the pools by day. The 150,000 to 175,000 people who poured into town each night did not just shuttle out to the Speedway and back to a hotel room. They spent the daylight hours on a pool deck, and that is where the Strip did its biggest EDC business.
This is a snapshot and recap of how EDC week 2026 transpired: how the days and nights broke down, and the real pool lineup that ran across the weekend.
How EDC week 2026 played out
EDC ran Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. But the week started before the festival did. Wednesday night, Thursday day, and Thursday night ahead of the festival were some of the biggest pre-parties of the whole stretch, and the pools opened their programming that Thursday.
Once the festival started, the rhythm was simple. The pools, Friday through Sunday, were the prime daytime events: the headliners who played the Speedway at night also turned up in the afternoon, and that is where the energy lived during the day. The nights belonged to the raceway. Most people were out at the Speedway until sunrise, so the Strip nightclubs ran quieter than a normal weekend at night, even though some guests picked one of the three nights to skip the drive and stay on the Strip, and the top clubs still booked major artists for exactly that crowd.
Sunday night was the slowest nightclub night of the weekend, with the festival crowd either at the raceway for the closing night or already fading. Then the tail of the weekend landed on Monday, when the guests still in town went to the Monday-night special events, which ran at rooms like LIV and XS.

The nights: why the clubs were quieter
For anyone used to a normal Vegas weekend, EDC nights felt different. The crowd that would fill the nightclubs was at the Speedway, so the rooms were calmer at night than the pool decks were by day. That was not a bad thing, and the big rooms still programmed major artists for the guests who chose to skip a raceway night. But the center of gravity for the weekend was the pools during the day and the festival at night, not the 11 PM club door.
