Park Chinois
Park Chinois is the rare Mayfair dining room that doubles as a night out, tucked behind the red doors on Berkeley Street. Dinner arrives with live music, a grand piano, and a cabaret that might be a burlesque turn, an aerialist, or a resident DJ before the room tips into late-night club mode downstairs. Created by Alan Yau of Hakkasan and Yauatcha with interiors by Jacques Garcia, it is a glamorous Chinese supper club best known for the legendary Duck de Chine.
A. Wong
A. Wong is Andrew Wong's modern Chinese restaurant on Wilton Road in Victoria, and the only Chinese kitchen outside Asia to hold two Michelin stars. The dining room is intimate by design: bright and airy with large windows and light interiors, an open kitchen set front and centre where Wong works the pass, and a handful of counter seats for guests who want to watch the cooking. It is a modern-Chinese benchmark and one of our surest bookings in the city.
China Tang at the Dorchester
China Tang occupies a subterranean 150-seat dining room beneath the Dorchester Hotel at 53 Park Lane, and has been Michelin-recommended since it opened in 2005 under the late Sir David Tang, founder of the China Clubs and Shanghai Tang. The room channels 1930s Shanghai glamour through art deco interiors: crimson leather banquettes, ornate chinoiserie screens, and flickering lanterns. It is one of our first calls for Peking duck in London.
Ivy Asia
Ivy Asia is a pan-Asian restaurant that behaves more like an occasion, set on an upper floor of One New Change at 20 New Change with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. It is the original and most theatrical of the Ivy Asia locations that have since opened around London and beyond, marked by a pink onyx floor and a pagoda-style mirrored bar. Expect glowing jade floors, St Paul's views, and pure theatre.
Imperial Treasure
Imperial Treasure is the European flagship of the multi-Michelin-starred Singaporean group, a fine Cantonese restaurant occupying a grand Grade II listed building at 9 Waterloo Place in St James's. The 140-seat room is a striking marriage of old and new: soaring historic plaster cornices and arched windows set against a contemporary Chinese interior of dark timber and jade-toned leather chairs. It is our pick when the occasion calls for serious Cantonese cooking in a grand setting.
MiMi Mei Fair
MiMi Mei Fair is the glamorous Chinese restaurant from LSL Capital, the team behind Jamavar, set inside a Georgian townhouse on Curzon Street in Mayfair and imagined as the opulent residence of a fictional Empress MiMi. A Michelin Guide listing, it is one of London's most theatrical dining rooms: a maximalist fantasy of hand-painted chinoiserie, coral-lacquered doors, and dragon motifs. Book it when the room is meant to be part of the show.
