El Gaucho · Restaurant · Saigon
Argentinian steakhouse on Hai Ba Trung, opposite the Park Hyatt Saigon.
El Gaucho is the Saigon outpost of an Argentinian steakhouse group with locations across Vietnam and the wider region, set at 74/1 Hai Ba Trung in District 1, opposite the Park Hyatt Saigon. The format centers on a beef program built from USDA Prime, Australian Black Angus and Wagyu cuts, run through an open kitchen with a grill at its center.
The building is a four-floor space with floor-to-ceiling windows and a partial balcony. The ground floor holds the open kitchen and bar; a smoking area sits on the ground floor only, with the floors above kept smoke-free.
Consistency is the point of a steakhouse group like this one. The cuts are the same standard whether the table is a Tuesday two-top or a Saturday group booking, and the format leans on that reliability over a changing menu.
Service runs from late morning into the evening, with the kitchen serving well past a typical Saigon dinner hour, useful for a group eating on a later schedule than most restaurants in District 1 can accommodate.
