IWA Japanese Yakiniku grills chilled A5 Kuroge wagyu and Japanese seafood at the table, and bills itself as the first luxury grill restaurant in Vietnam. The setting is a garden the house compares to a luxury resort, with a swimming pool on site. Private dining rooms are named for gemstones - Diamond, Sapphire, Topaz and Garnet - each tied to a zodiac sign, and the theme runs through the whole idea of the place: ingredients treated as raw stone, cut and revealed. IWA Lounge is fitted in a Moroccan style and pours gemstone-themed signature cocktails.
The grill list moves from thick sliced beef tongue through akami and shimofuri wagyu to silk rose, the A5 sirloin cut. Rice closes the meal out, either wagyu claypot rice or IWA seafood rice, with beef collagen soup alongside. Three set menus, Aidama, Kawasemi and Kiseki, run for a table that would rather not build the order itself. Service is framed on omotenashi, the Japanese idea of wholehearted hospitality.
Lunch runs 10:30 to 14:00 and dinner 17:00 to 22:00, seven days, with the kitchen dark in between.
