La Villa is in the MICHELIN Guide selection and occupies what its name promises: a French villa on Ngo Quang Huy in An Khanh, with a garden and a pool that the dining terrace looks over. Chef Thierry Mounon has run the kitchen for years, cooking neo-classic French food that keeps traditional technique and builds contemporary ideas on top of it.
The setting is the reason to choose it over the city's other French rooms. Dining beside a pool in a garden, away from the traffic of District 1, is what the terrace tables are booked for. The interior room is comfortable but it is not the draw.
Service runs 11:45 to 23:30 Thursday through Sunday, with dinner-only service from 18:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the restaurant is closed Mondays - lunch is a four-day proposition, dinner a six-day one.
