The 10 Best Restaurants in Saigon (2026)
Ten of Ho Chi Minh City's best restaurants for 2026, ranked, from Michelin-starred kitchens to a riverside terrace.
Why we wrote this guide
Ho Chi Minh City's fine-dining scene has grown fast enough to put ten of its restaurants in front of the MICHELIN inspectors, from a one-star room built into a wet market to a Green Star kitchen running its own farm. This guide ranks the ten restaurants that matter most in 2026, spanning District 1, Thao Dien, Tan Dinh, District 3 and Ben Thanh.
The list runs from Vietnamese reinvention to French villas and Cantonese banquet halls. Anan rebuilds street food at fine-dining scale above a working market. CieL and Upstairs each hold a Michelin star from rooms built for a handful of tables. La Villa cooks neo-classic French beside a pool, Long Trieu serves classical Cantonese inside The Reverie Saigon, and AKUNA looks out over the Saigon River from the ninth floor of Le Meridien.
Outside Las Vegas the restaurant reservation sits with the venue, not with us. What we do is point you to the right room, help you time it, and build the rest of the trip around it.

The ranked guide
1. Anan Saigon (Saigon Ward)

Anan holds one Michelin star, the first restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City to be awarded one, and sits at 89 Ton That Dam in a narrow building rising out of one of the last working wet markets in central Saigon. Chef Peter Cuong Franklin's food takes Vietnamese street dishes and rebuilds them at fine-dining scale without abandoning what they were. The restaurant has also appeared on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
The building runs across several floors: a ground-floor dining room, the Nhau Nhau cocktail bar above it, and a rooftop. Service starts at 17:00 and runs late, closed Mondays. Anan takes reservations by email, and the dining room is small enough that two weeks ahead is a realistic window for a weekend table.

Best for: a fine-dining take on Vietnamese street food.
2. CieL (Thao Dien / An Khanh)

CieL holds one Michelin star in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Vietnam and sits on Street No. 50, off the main road in An Khanh Ward on the Thao Dien side of the river. The dining room is set inside a modern villa: a ground-floor counter looks into the open kitchen against a garden backdrop, while the floor above takes a cooler, more minimal turn. The kitchen fuses French technique with Vietnamese influence across an evolving tasting menu, cooking Michelin categorizes as Innovative.
The room is small enough that Michelin lists it as suited to a solo seat at the counter or a chef's table booking. Service runs 17:30 to 23:00, Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays.

Best for: a small-room tasting menu with a garden view.
3. CoCo Saigon (District 3)

CoCo Dining anchors the CoCo Saigon complex on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, on the District 3 edge of the center, and holds a Michelin star for its tasting menus. The kitchen, led by Chef Vuong, builds its courses around Vietnamese culinary heritage. The room is set with black granite tables, and a kitchen counter called the Front Row gives solo diners a direct view of the cooking.
Two seasonal tasting menus run through the year, with a wine pairing sold as its own track. Service runs 17:30 to 23:00, seven nights. CoCo Dining takes reservations through TableCheck, confirmed instantly.

Best for: a Michelin tasting menu built on Vietnamese memory.
4. Upstairs (Thao Dien / An Khanh)

Upstairs took its first Michelin star in the 2026 guide. It sits at 36 Nguyen Ba Huan in An Khanh, across the river in the Thao Dien area, set above a wine bar with just four tables in the room. The kitchen is a tasting-menu operation built around Chef Hiep Truong's modern Vietnamese cooking, rooted in Central Vietnamese traditions.
Upstairs serves dinner Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 18:00 to 23:00, and adds a midday seating on Monday and Sunday from 12:00 to 15:00. It is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

Best for: a newly starred tasting menu in a four-table room.
5. La Villa (An Khanh)

La Villa is in the MICHELIN Guide selection and occupies a French villa on Ngo Quang Huy in An Khanh, with a garden and a pool that the dining terrace looks over. Chef Thierry Mounon cooks neo-classic French food that keeps traditional technique and builds contemporary ideas on top of it.
Service runs 11:45 to 23:30 Thursday through Sunday, with dinner-only service from 18:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, closed Mondays. La Villa takes reservations through the booking form on its own site; ask for a garden or poolside table when you book.

Best for: a poolside French dinner away from District 1.
6. AKUNA (Le Meridien Saigon)

AKUNA holds one Michelin star and occupies the ninth floor of Le Meridien Saigon on Ton Duc Thang, looking over the Saigon River. It is led by chef Sam Aisbett, who previously ran a Michelin-starred restaurant in Singapore, and the menu blends Australian, Japanese and international technique with Vietnamese ingredients.
It is a tasting-menu room, and the pacing assumes you are staying for the evening. Service runs 18:00 to 22:00, Tuesday to Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. Reservations go through the restaurant's own booking page.

Best for: a river-view tasting menu from a Michelin-trained chef.
7. La Lola (Ben Thanh)

La Lola was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, the guide's mark for good cooking at fair value. It sits on Ly Tu Trong in Ben Thanh ward, a short walk from Ben Thanh Market. The kitchen is Mediterranean, drawing on Chef Julio's cooking across Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, Turkey and Greece.
Hours run 10:30 to 23:00, daily, so it works for a late lunch, an early dinner or a table after a rooftop drink. La Lola takes bookings directly through its own website, confirming by phone or email for larger groups.

8. Long Trieu (The Reverie Saigon)

Long Trieu holds one Michelin star for Cantonese cooking and occupies the fourth floor of The Reverie Saigon, overlooking Nguyen Hue Boulevard in District 1. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Angus Chan with culinary advisor Master Siu Hin Chi, working classical Cantonese dim sum, roast meats and seafood.
The dining room and its nine private rooms hold up to 200 guests. Lunch runs 11:00 to 14:00, from 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday for dim sum, and dinner runs 18:00 to 22:00. Long Trieu takes reservations through DiningCity.

9. The Deck Saigon (An Khanh)

The Deck sits directly on the Saigon River at Nguyen U Di in An Khanh, with a terrace at the water's edge. It has operated since 2008. The kitchen runs Asian fusion cooking with a seafood focus, and the restaurant holds from breakfast at 08:00 through the day into the evening, seven days a week.
The bar keeps its own hours alongside it, from 16:00 on weekdays and from noon on weekends. Reservations run through TableCheck, which confirms instantly; riverside tables fill quickly, so ask for one directly when you reserve, particularly around sunset.

Best for: a riverside breakfast, lunch or sunset table.
10. Tales by Chapter (Tan Dinh)

Tales by Chapter holds a Michelin Green Star, awarded in the 2026 guide - the newest Green Star in Vietnam and one of only three in the country. Chefs Truong Quang Dung and Quoc Hung run a plant-based, zero-waste kitchen, sourcing seasonally from its own farm and a rooftop garden for a seasonal tasting menu.
The room sits on Nguyen Thanh Y in Tan Dinh, in a quiet villa setting, and is deliberately intimate. Service runs 19:00 to 23:00 daily, closed Tuesdays. Reservations run through TableCheck.
