Le Corto · Restaurant · Saigon
Modern French on Nguyen Sieu, steps from the Opera House.
Le Corto sits on Nguyen Sieu in District 1, a few minutes' walk from the Opera House, and it is one of the more formal French rooms in the city. The kitchen is led by chef and founder Sakal Phoeung, a Maitre Cuisinier de France with more than 25 years in Michelin-starred kitchens in France, working alongside chef de cuisine Khoa Huynh; the cooking is modern French built on local Vietnamese ingredients.
The room is designed around French architectural cues - clean lines, a restrained palette, real space between tables - and it comes across as a restaurant that expects to be taken seriously: the right booking for a business dinner or an occasion, not a casual night out.
Its position matters: this is one of the few genuinely upscale kitchens within walking distance of the Dong Khoi hotels, so it does not require a car.
Lunch runs 11:00 to 15:00 Sunday through Friday, and dinner runs 17:30 to 22:00 every day, including a dinner-only opening on Saturday. The lunch menu is the value proposition here and the room is quieter for it, which suits a conversation that matters.
