ROS Yacht Club is neither a yacht club nor a rooftop, whatever the name suggests. It is a ground-level waterfront dining room and river lounge at Bach Dang Harbour, 10B Ton Duc Thang, with the Saigon River straight in front of it. La Pointe Des Blagueurs and the cafe Jokers' Point stood on the same spot in the 1950s, and ROS takes its cue from both.
The layout is open and airy. Indoor dining is the formal end of it, an outdoor garden takes the cocktail crowd, and a line of tables along the railing faces the water. The waterbus station next door keeps river traffic in the view.
The cooking is premium fusion, filed by the kitchen under Sharing is Caring. The a la carte list is long: soft shell crab salad with cured tomato and mandarin dressing, charcoal grilled squid with ROS brown butter sacha sauce and a mango herb salad, and a duo of truffle cheeses, Isigny brie and Vega Mancha manchego. The heavier end holds a Jack's Creek black angus tomahawk, 180 days grain fed, and Kagoshima wagyu A5 cooked tableside on a hot stone with sauces and salts. Three tasting sets, Aura, Lumina and Horizon, are the shorter route through it.
The room opens at 11:00 and runs to 23:30 daily, with a lunch menu, high tea from 14:00 to 16:30, and a cocktail list carrying the evening.
