The same high-rise density that gave the city its legendary rooftop bars also produced a distinct category above them: proper restaurants in the sky, where a full sit-down meal - not just a cocktail - is the reason to ride the elevator. These are kitchens run by serious chefs, plating multi-course dinners 60, 70, even 76 floors up, with the Chao Phraya and the skyline as the backdrop. It is a genre Bangkok effectively created, from the world's highest alfresco restaurant to Thailand's single highest dining room.
We looked past the pure cocktail rooftops and curated the ones where the food genuinely holds its own against the view - ten of them, ranked by real search demand in 2026. The range is deliberately broad: Mediterranean on a gold-domed terrace, Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei in a sky garden, modern Mexican at the very top of a supertall tower, a converted-helipad grill, a French wine-bar bistro, and a river-facing Thai table opposite Wat Arun. Some sit above famous hotels; all deliver a meal worth the height.
A note on booking. These rooms fill their prime sunset tables well ahead, and the best seats are held directly by each venue. Outside Las Vegas, the reservation sits with the venue itself, not with us - we point you to the right table and hand you off to book. Dress codes are enforced at the headline addresses, so plan for long trousers and closed shoes.

1. Sirocco (lebua at State Tower, Bang Rak)
Sirocco crowns the 63rd floor of lebua at State Tower as the world's highest alfresco restaurant, and it is the definitive Bangkok sky-dining postcard - the golden-domed terrace, made famous by The Hangover Part II, cascading down toward a stage where a live jazz band plays against 247 meters of open air over the Chao Phraya. It shares the floor with the celebrated Sky Bar, but Sirocco is the sit-down experience, its white-linen tables set right at the edge of the drop.
The kitchen serves Mediterranean cuisine built on premium ingredients and paired with a deep wine list, delivered with the ceremony the setting demands. This is special-occasion dining at its most theatrical - book the sunset seating, dress to the strict code of long trousers and closed shoes, and let the river and the city do the rest. 2. Nobu Bangkok (The Empire Tower, Sathorn)
The world's highest Nobu opened in September 2024 across the upper floors of The Empire Tower in Sathorn, and it is a destination in the fullest sense - a Rockwell Group interior threading Thai craft through Nobu's Japanese-Peruvian world, with sushi and sake bars, private rooms, and a rooftop bar on a former helipad. The views are truly 360-degree, taking in the river, Bang Krachao, Mahanakhon and lebua's distant dome.
The food is the reason to come: Nobu Matsuhisa's contemporary Japanese cooking with the signature Peruvian accents - black cod miso, new-style sashimi, tiraditos - executed at the standard the name demands. It is a moneyed, dressed-up room built for an occasion, and it is best begun with a drink on the rooftop as the sun drops before dinner. The newest marquee table on the Sathorn skyline.

3. Above Eleven (Fraser Suites Sukhumvit, Soi 11)
On the 33rd and 34th floors of Fraser Suites Sukhumvit, Above Eleven is Southeast Asia's original Peruvian-Japanese, or Nikkei, rooftop restaurant, open since 2012 above the buzz of Soi 11. The design is a signature in itself: an urban city-park in the sky, with structural trees and greenery framing an open outlook over the Sukhumvit skyline.
Here the menu carries the night as much as the view - Nikkei platters, ceviches and mains alongside classic pisco cocktails and Peruvian-inflected originals. It is livelier and less formal than the river giants, which makes it a great pick for a group that wants a real dinner with atmosphere rather than a hushed fine-dining room. Reservations for dining are recommended, and doors open at 6pm.

4. Ojo (The Standard, King Power Mahanakhon)
On the 76th floor of King Power Mahanakhon, Ojo is Thailand's highest restaurant - a glass-walled, jewel-toned room from The Standard, with a terrace and 360-degree views that fall away dizzyingly over the whole city. The interiors, inspired by a journey across Central America, set a glamorous, mystical tone a world away from the usual hotel sky-restaurant.
Chef Francisco Paco Ruano, of Guadalajara's acclaimed Alcalde, brings genuinely serious modern Mexican cooking to that altitude - asada tacos, kampachi ceviche, wood-fired mains and standout guacamole - alongside a mezcal-driven cocktail list. It is one of the most dramatic tables in Bangkok, and it is best timed for sunset, when the light and the city are at their most cinematic.

5. Red Sky (Centara Grand at CentralWorld)
On the 55th floor of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Red Sky delivers a panorama over the dense commercial heart of Bangkok, framed by its signature illuminated arch that curves over the open-air terrace. Set right above the CentralWorld and Ratchaprasong core, it is one of the most central sky-dining rooms in the city, with the bar and CRU Champagne Bar a floor or two above.
The kitchen, led by chef Luca Russo, runs a refined European menu - think truffle-laced Wagyu Rossini and surf-and-turf - backed by an extensive wine list and craft cocktails. Smart-casual and built for a special occasion, it is a dependable, glamorous choice for a high-altitude dinner in the middle of everything. 6. Vertigo (Banyan Tree Bangkok, Sathorn)
On the 61st floor of Banyan Tree Bangkok, Vertigo is billed as Asia's first rooftop grill - a converted open-air helipad, roughly 220 meters up, with no glass walls between your table and a 360-degree sweep of Sathorn and the skyline. The adjoining Moon Bar handles cocktails; Vertigo itself is the restaurant, a row of candle-lit tables set right along the exposed edge.
The kitchen is a serious seafood-and-steak grill, plating premium cuts and catch to match the drama of the setting, with the signature Vertigo Sunset the cocktail to open on. The mood is grown-up and romantic, the service polished, and the smart-casual dress code enforced. Book the sunset seating and arrive early - watching the light fade from this edge is the whole point. Dinner from 6pm.

7. Scarlett Wine Bar (Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, Silom)
On the 37th floor of Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, Scarlett is a Parisian-styled wine bar and restaurant with one of the best Silom skyline backdrops going - deep reds, low light and a bistro-in-the-sky mood that has made it a date-night regular for years. The towers of Silom and glimpses of the river fill the window wall.
It is as much a restaurant as a bar: a French-leaning kitchen and a genuinely deep by-the-glass wine program anchor the experience, drawing a buzzy after-work and celebration crowd. For a sky-high dinner that centers on the food and the wine rather than the spectacle of extreme altitude, it is one of the best-value tables in the city. Book a window seat for sunset.

8. Above Riva (Riva Arun, Rattanakosin old town)
Above Riva crowns the boutique Riva Arun hotel on the Chao Phraya in the historic old town, and its position is unmatched: the open-air terrace looks directly across the river at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, with the Grand Palace and Wat Pho a short walk away. This is a low, intimate, river-level table rather than a skyscraper perch - and the close-up temple view is one of the most beautiful in Bangkok.
The kitchen pairs a contemporary twist-of-Thai menu with cocktails and wine, and the river-facing seats are the ones to request as Wat Arun lights up against the dusk. It is the most romantic dining rooftop in the old town, rooted in heritage and the river rather than height - a completely different sky-dining experience from the Sukhumvit and Sathorn towers.

9. SEEN Restaurant (AVANI+ Riverside Bangkok, Thonburi)
Across the 26th and 27th floors of AVANI+ Riverside Bangkok on the Thonburi bank, SEEN pairs art-deco glamour with a rooftop pool deck high over the Chao Phraya. Sitting on the west bank, it looks back at the full sweep of the city skyline - a different and arguably better angle than the rooms on the far side of the river.
The kitchen, from chef Olivier da Costa, runs a Portuguese-Brazilian and Japanese menu - creative sushi, premium steaks - with an award-winning cocktail program alongside. Sleek styling, a see-and-be-seen crowd and the infinity-pool backdrop make it a glamorous dinner destination that runs late. Book a river-facing table and time it for the sunset.

10. Yao Restaurant & Rooftop (Bangkok Marriott The Surawongse)
Atop the Bangkok Marriott The Surawongse, Yao Restaurant & Rooftop brings a Shanghai-chic sensibility to contemporary Chinese dining in the sky - refined, Cantonese-leaning dishes and dim sum served against skyline views over the river and the Silom quarter. It is the sit-down dining counterpart to the venue's rooftop bar, focused on a proper meal rather than just a cocktail.
The styling is elegant and the outlook wide, making it a stylish choice for a group that wants dim sum and Chinese plates with a view - a less-touristed alternative to the marquee river restaurants.
