Ojo is the restaurant on the 76th floor of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, inside the King Power Mahanakhon tower, about 300 meters above the street. The Standard opened its Asia flagship hotel here in July 2022, and Ojo has held the top floor since the launch. The room leans space-age and retro glam, and the kitchen runs from lunch into late evening.
The kitchen is led by chef Francisco "Paco" Ruano, who also runs Alcalde in Guadalajara. In his own words, he set out to make Ojo's food approachable, energetic and refreshing, built on authentic Mexican regional cooking, not heavy Tex-Mex interpretations. He works Thai ingredients into the kitchen without giving up the integrity of the dishes, and the menu draws on childhood memories from his grandmother's kitchen in Guadalajara.
The dress code is smart casual, meals run about two to two and a half hours, and seating is assigned on arrival based on availability. Larger groups of more than six book through the reservations team directly.
