Nusara opened in 2020 and is named for the grandmother of chef Thitid 'Ton' Tassanakajohn, whose recipes anchor the menu. Run with his brother Chaisiri 'Tam' Tassanakajohn, it occupies a tiny dining room in Ta Tien in the Old Town, seating only around ten guests and looking straight out at the golden spires of Wat Pho.
That combination - a heartfelt family tribute in one of Bangkok's most beautiful settings - has made it one of the hardest reservations in the city, and it ranks No. 5 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026. The room's view of Wat Pho lit up at night gives every meal a sense of occasion.
Across roughly twelve to fifteen courses, Ton reinterprets his grandmother's home cooking alongside traditional Thai and royal dishes dating to the Rama V era of the early 1900s. It is more nostalgic and heritage-driven than his flagship Le Du, the flavors familial and deeply Thai.
Temple views and family recipes make this a signature Bangkok table. Book far in advance, aim for an evening seating when Wat Pho is illuminated, and treat it as a special-occasion dinner in every sense.
