Le Du opened in 2013 and became the cornerstone of Bangkok's new Thai fine-dining movement
Le Du - the Thai word for 'season' - opened in 2013 and became the cornerstone of Bangkok's new Thai fine-dining movement. It is the flagship of chef Thitid 'Ton' Tassanakajohn, a Culinary Institute of America graduate who trained at Eleven Madison Park and Jean-Georges before returning home to apply French precision to seasonal Thai produce.
The Silom dining room is intimate and modern, an understated stage that keeps the focus squarely on the plate and the service. It reads as a serious fine-dining room without the stiffness, assured and quietly confident.
The tasting menu is contemporary but rooted in Thai flavor, and two dishes have become signatures: a refined khao chae of shrimp-and-pork pate, pickled radish and jasmine ice cream, and khao kluk kapi, organic rice cooked with aromat
