Nobu's Bangkok outpost, atop Empire Tower in Sathorn
Nobu Bangkok is the world's highest outpost of the global Japanese-Peruvian brand, opened in September 2024 across the upper reaches of the Empire Tower in Sathorn. It arrived as the newest marquee address on a skyline that already includes lebua and Mahanakhon, and it carries the pedigree to match.
Rockwell Group's design threads Thai craft - hand-woven textiles, carved wood - through the familiar Nobu language, culminating in an open-air bar built on a former helipad. From there the view is genuinely 360 degrees: the Chao Phraya below, the green lung of Bang Krachao, the spire of Mahanakhon, and the distant glow of the Sky Bar all visible from a single perch.
The rooftop is the reason to come for a drink, with a full cocktail list and a dedicated sake selection, backed by the same kitchen turning out Nobu's signatures downstairs, where black cod miso and new-style sashimi anchor a full destination-dining room.
The crowd is polished and moneyed, the setting made for an occasion. Time a visit for just before sunset, when the light drops over the river and the city switches on beneath you; book ahead, and dress the part.
