Nobu on Old Park Lane is the original, the first Nobu in Europe, open on the first floor of the COMO Metropolitan hotel since 1997, and still the Mayfair room that set the template every later Nobu copied. It is a scene in its own right, with a nightly mix of business tables, celebration parties, and regulars who have been coming for years.
The restaurant sits one floor up in the Metropolitan, a large, light space designed by United Designers in pale woods and natural stone, with full-height windows running the Park Lane side toward Hyde Park. Black leather banquettes line the window wall, blond wooden tables fill a bright, pared-back room, and a separate sushi counter lets you sit in front of the chefs. It reads calm and expensive by day and turns into more of a scene at night.
