34 Mayfair · Restaurant · London

An art deco steak grill and jazz room on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair.
34 Mayfair is an art deco grill on Grosvenor Square, with the entrance on South Audley Street, where a top-hatted doorman sets the tone. Martin Brudnizki designed the interior around the mid-century spirit of New York, Paris and London: warm table lamps, burnt-orange leather banquettes, oak parquet floors and a colorful contemporary art collection, all anchored by a marble-topped mirrored bar and an open kitchen.
Live music fills the room every Friday from 7:30 PM, with a different lineup each week spanning acoustic sets to Latin rhythms. The oak-panelled private Emin Room, hung with works by Tracey Emin, takes larger parties. The kitchen is built around the grill and rotisserie, with premium steaks at the center, from Argentinian grass-fed sirloin up to Japanese A5 Wagyu.
Around them sit seared scallops with mojo butter, Korean BBQ spatchcock chicken, chargrilled sea bass, and the 34 truffled mac and cheese. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday and leans into pancakes, eggs Benedict and baked French toast alongside cocktails and Champagne.
The dining room opens Monday to Friday from noon to midnight, Saturday from 11am to midnight, and Sunday from 11am to 10pm, and dress is smart casual in keeping with a Mayfair grill, with no sportswear. For the record, 34 Mayfair does not currently hold a Michelin star; the draw is the setting, the grill and the scene.
