Best French Restaurants in London (2026): The 9 We Recommend
Our concierge shortlist of the nine French and French-leaning rooms in London for 2026, from three-star Park Lane flagships to velvet-lined Mayfair basements.
London's French dining runs from three-star Park Lane flagships to velvet-lined Mayfair basements, and for 2026 we have narrowed it to nine rooms we recommend with confidence. This is our concierge shortlist across the city, from the haute cuisine of Alain Ducasse and Helene Darroze to the Riviera ease of LPM and Bagatelle. Each pick below links to its full page with the detail you need before you commit. When you find the room that fits, tap through to reserve your own table on the venue's platform.
34 Mayfair

34 Mayfair is an art deco grill on Grosvenor Square. A top-hatted doorman sets the tone at the South Audley Street entrance, and live music plays every Friday from 7:30 PM with a lineup that rotates week to week. Martin Brudnizki designed the mid-century interior.
Isabel Mayfair

Isabel Mayfair is the glamorous, low-lit dining-and-lounge room on Albemarle Street that has drawn a stylish Mayfair crowd since it opened in 2017. It leans Latin and Mediterranean, theatrical and built to feel like an occasion, with a late bar for after dinner. The setting is a 1905 Beaux-Arts building, one of the finest examples in Mayfair.
Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester

Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is the three-Michelin-star French dining room on Park Lane, the chef's flagship London kitchen. It sits inside The Dorchester at 53 Park Lane, on the Mayfair edge of Hyde Park, carrying a quieter, more modern elegance than the grand hotel around it.
Helene Darroze at The Connaught

Helene Darroze at The Connaught is the three-Michelin-star flagship of chef Helene Darroze, set inside the Mayfair grande dame on Carlos Place. It is built for a long, unhurried evening and the table you want to get exactly right. Designer Pierre Yovanovitch reimagined the dining room in 2019, lightening the historic dark-wood panelling to warmer tones against soft coral walls.
LPM

LPM is a Mayfair flagship built around the food and ease of the Cote d'Azur, tucked into a quiet mews at 53-54 Brook's Mews behind Claridge's. It opened in 2007 as the flagship of a concept inspired by Nice, working a triangular room around a zinc bar, with crisp white linens, marble accents, and a small terrace for warmer months. Expect chef-patron Raphael Duntoye's Cote d'Azur classics in a room designed for ease.
Langan's Brasserie

Langan's Brasserie is the storied Stratton Street room that restaurateur Peter Langan opened in 1976 with actor Michael Caine and chef Richard Shepherd, for decades the buzziest celebrity canteen in London. Closed and dark for a spell, it reopened in 2021 under Graziano Arricale and James Hitchen, who restored the glamour without sanding off the character. What regulars book for is the art-covered walls, a Mayfair icon reborn.
Mistress of Mayfair

Mistress of Mayfair reveals itself at the bottom of a staircase at 48-49 St James's Street, a subterranean den of red velvet drapes, plush banquettes, and muted chandelier light that leans toward late-night Parisian intrigue. The basement concept opened in early 2024 and draws on the area's historic clandestine tunnels, building an intimate room around a central bar with velvet booths along the walls.
Brooklands by Claude Bosi

Brooklands by Claude Bosi crowns the rooftop of The Peninsula London in Belgravia, a two-Michelin-starred room that won both stars in its debut year. It sets Claude Bosi's cooking under one of the city's most theatrical settings, with an original Concorde nose cone among the room's racing memorabilia and skyline views on every side. This is a genuine special-occasion dinner, worth a standalone evening.
Bagatelle London

Bagatelle London opened in 2019 as the UK flagship of the Bagatelle empire, a French Mediterranean bistro at 34 Dover Street in Mayfair, a minute's walk from Berkeley Square. It marries French-Mediterranean cooking with Riviera aesthetics: white marble floors, navy velvet chairs, and brass accents, refreshed in a 2025 redesign by Sam Baron. By night, the room turns into a stage for resident DJs and live performers, and the crowd stays late through dinner service.
