Selene opened in autumn 2024 inside Mappin House on Winsley Street, a short walk from Oxford Street. Mappin House is the 1906 building of the jeweller Mappin and Webb, and the club takes its name and its look from Greek myth: Selene is the goddess of the moon.
The theme carries through four rooms. Draped curtains, chandeliers, and mirrors and lighting that create infinity corridors sit against reds, blues and greens with gold accents, and even the bathrooms have deep blue tiled walls and shell-shaped basins. The main room, also called Selene, is the largest, with lighting, sound and LED screens built for high-energy nights and space for up to 450 guests.
Helios, a smaller room styled as a Greek garden, opened as the club's house music room. The Late Lounge is a more private space used for intimate gatherings and live acoustic sets, and a separate private room holds a duckpin bowling alley with its own scoring system. The main room has also hosted performances inspired by Greek myth. Selene opens Thursday through Sunday, from 11pm to 4am each night.
Tables are by invitation, so every booking starts as a request with the date and the number of men and women in the group. The bowling alley and each of the other rooms can also be booked for private events. Tell us the night and your group size, and our London partner will arrange the table.
