Contemporary British dining on Level 31 of The Shard
Aqua Shard occupies Level 31 of The Shard, Western Europe's tallest building, and the room runs on the view as much as the menu. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps the space, delivering a near-360-degree sweep of the London skyline, and the contemporary British kitchen holds a listing in the Michelin Guide.
Executive Chef Mark Abbott leads the kitchen. He was previously head chef at the two-Michelin-starred Midsummer House in Cambridge, and his menu at Aqua Shard follows the British seasons, shifting through the year with the produce available.
Lunch runs Monday to Friday from noon to 2:30 PM, dinner Monday to Saturday from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with weekend brunch Saturday from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM, and a Sunday roast served during the Sunday evening sitting. Time a table for sunset if you can, when the city towers and Tower Bridge light up beyond the windows.
Beyond the dining room, the bar opens from noon, Sunday to Thursday until midnight and Friday and Saturday until 1:00 AM, and a full afternoon tea is served daily from 11:15 AM to 4:30 PM. Reserve through OpenTable.
