Nobu Matsuhisa's Japanese-Peruvian dining room in Polanco
Nobu Polanco is a Japanese restaurant from chef Nobu Matsuhisa on Anatole France, a block off Avenida Presidente Masaryk. It brings the same Japanese cooking crossed with Peruvian ingredients and technique that made the brand a fixture in every luxury market it enters, delivered to a Polanco crowd that treats it as a default for business dinners and long celebratory nights.
The menu is the canon. Black cod marinated in miso, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, tiradito, rock shrimp tempura and the new style sashimi all sit alongside a full sushi list and an omakase for guests who want the kitchen to decide. The bar program runs to sake, Japanese whisky and Nobu's signature cocktails.
The room is darker and more theatrical than the city's chef-led tasting rooms, and it keeps a different clock: the kitchen runs until 1 AM Thursday through Saturday, when the bar carries on past the last tables. Sunday is an early service that closes at 6 PM. A second Mexico City location, Nobu Arcos Bosques, covers the west side of the city.
