Lucho Martinez's one Michelin star restaurant in Roma Norte
Em is chef Lucho Martinez's restaurant on Tonala in Roma Norte, an evolution of Emilia, which he opened at the same address. Martinez took one Michelin star in the first Mexico guide in 2024 and holds it in the current guide, and Em also appears on 50 Best Discovery for Latin America.
The kitchen works a contemporary Mexican line built on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, with a lot of seafood. Recent plates have included grilled young corn in a coffee and browned butter sauce, a tostada topped with Veracruz-style fish stew, shaved avocado and caviar, and a mamey dessert served as a Swiss roll and a frozen tartlet. Guests choose between an a la carte menu and a tasting menu, or two seats at the Primera Fila chef's table for a closer view of the kitchen.
Em sits on the ground floor and stays intimate and low key. Service runs Monday through Saturday from 6 PM to 10 PM, and the restaurant is closed on Sunday.
