Josiah Citrin's modern Californian restaurant at Wilshire and 11th in Santa Monica, with one MICHELIN star.
Citrin is Josiah Citrin's modern Californian restaurant at Wilshire Boulevard and 11th Street in Santa Monica, with one MICHELIN star in the 2026 California selection. Citrin, a two-star MICHELIN chef with more than forty years in Los Angeles dining, launched JiRaffe with Raphael Lunetta in 1996 and sold his interest in 1999.
Citrin and its sister restaurant Melisse share one gray building on the southeast corner of Wilshire and 11th, with separate entrances; Citrin's is the red door off 11th Street, under the awning. Inside is a large bar serving the full menu to walk-ins, with further seating out in a garden. Valet at Citrin is $16.
The kitchen runs an a la carte menu alongside a prix fixe. The Truffle Egg comes with truffle sauce, shaved white truffle and toasted brioche at $150, and Egg Caviar sets Kaluga caviar on a soft poached egg with cauliflower mousseline and lemon chive creme fraiche at $55. Santa Barbara spot prawns arrive with Row Seven sweet garleek and Sweet Prince tomato butter at $56, yellowtail hamachi with radish, lemon cucumber and passionfruit-ponzu at $35, and the Salade Melisse of shaved vegetables, parmesan and truffle vinaigrette at $29.
Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday, 6 pm to 9 pm Tuesday through Thursday and from 5:30 pm Friday and Saturday; the bar window opens at 5:30 pm every night the restaurant is open. Private dining and large parties are handled through the restaurant's separate inquiry channel.
