Casa de Nadie · Restaurant · Medellin
A hillside dining room above Medellin in Santa Elena, built around a balcony over the valley.
Casa de Nadie sits on the Santa Elena hillside above Medellin, and the drive up is part of it. The city thins out, the road climbs into the hills east of Poblado, and the room appears with a balcony hanging over the whole valley.
The house reads as exactly that: a house. Warm timber ceilings, globe pendants strung the length of the room, tan leather tub chairs on patterned tile, a bar along the back and glass on the valley side. The plan runs in connected sections rather than one dining room, so the room feels lived-in rather than staged, which is the point of the name.
The cooking is contemporary Colombian and the kitchen is ambitious. It carries the highest guest rating of any restaurant in our Medellin list, and it earns it on the food rather than the view alone, which is rare this far up a hill.
Service runs from midday, so lunch with the valley in daylight is a genuine option and the easiest booking of the week. Thursday through Saturday it stays open to midnight and the balcony becomes the room everyone wants.
Plan on a ride each way. Santa Elena is twenty minutes from Poblado without traffic and there is nothing else up here, so this is the evening rather than a stop within it.
