Mal de Ojo sits eleven floors up in the CoWork Latam Astorga building on Calle 8 in El Poblado, with a terrace that opens onto a 360-degree view of the city. It belongs to the same group as Envy Rooftop at the Charlee Hotel, though the two rooms run separately with their own menus and their own crowd.
The kitchen runs Mexican-Asian fusion: ceviches, tacos and dishes like cochinita pibil sit alongside Asian-leaning plates, with a full list of mezcal, tequila and wine. Live music runs through the night, and the cocktails lean into the same ritual theme as the food.
The schedule runs longer than a typical dinner room. Monday and Tuesday it opens at 5pm and runs to midnight. Wednesday it opens at noon and also closes at midnight. Thursday through Saturday it opens at noon and runs to 1am, and Sunday it opens at noon and closes at 10pm, the only night the room shuts early. There is no age restriction before 9pm, so the early evening works for a mixed-age group before the room shifts later.
