Chef Yeison Mora's local-product alta cocina in El Poblado
Idilico is chef Yeison Mora's small, elegant bistro in Barrio Manila, the quieter edge of El Poblado, and it has become one of Medellin's most respected kitchens, named on the World's 50 Best guide to eating in Colombia. The dining room is light and understated, the kind of room that puts the plate first.
The menu is alta cocina rooted in local product, cocina de producto local, a modern read on Colombian ingredients that shifts with what the farms and the coast are sending. It is precise, seasonal cooking served without the theater of a long tasting format, which is why regulars treat it as a special-occasion table that never feels stuffy.
Manila sits a few blocks off the Provenza rush, so it keeps a calmer, neighborhood feel while staying walking distance from the rest of El Poblado dining and nightlife. It is a small room, so it books up.
Idilico takes reservations through its own site. Book ahead, especially for weekend dinner, and let the team walk you through the seasonal menu.
