Hilltop city-view dining above Medellin in Santa Elena
Ritwal, or Ritwal Mesa y Mistica, sits on a hillside in Santa Elena above Medellin, and the view is the first thing everyone talks about: the whole Aburra Valley opening up below the terrace, best caught at sunset. It frames the night as a ritual, a play on lo espiritual and lo hedonista built around the elements, and the room leans candlelit and romantic.
The cooking is Mediterranean crossed with Colombian, generous and made for sharing: wood-fired cuts like the tomahawk, the fresh catch of the day, and a half chicken marinated Peruvian-style in anticucho sauce, plus a long cocktail list to go with the view. It is a destination dinner, the kind of place couples and groups plan a whole evening around.
Getting up to Santa Elena is a short drive out of El Poblado, which is part of the draw: you trade the Provenza crowds for the quiet and the panorama. Weekends and sunset seatings fill first. Ritwal books through Precompro; aim for a sunset slot for the view, and arrive a little early for a drink on the terrace.
Tell us when you are coming and how many, and our Medellin partner takes care of the table.
