Kalita · Restaurant · Mykonos
Modern Greek cooking in a candlelit palm garden off Kalogera, in Mykonos Town.
Kalita is a modern Greek restaurant set in a walled garden on Kalogera Street, one of the quieter lanes threading through Mykonos Town. Built into the courtyard of the Fresh boutique hotel, it trades the island's beach-club noise for palm trees, candlelight and a slow, grown-up pace that suits Chora after dark.
The kitchen works in a contemporary register, reinterpreting Greek classics rather than reinventing them. A mini moussaka arrives with feta mousse and tomato powder; the spinach pie comes deconstructed; and the wider menu leans on Aegean seafood, island produce and precise plating that stays recognizably Greek at its core. The wine list is a genuine argument for Greek vineyards, deep enough to reward a long dinner, and the bar sends out cocktails to open or close the night.
The setting does much of the work. Tables sit among greenery under strung lights, close enough for conversation and far enough from the crowds to feel like a find. A smart, elegant dress code keeps the mood in step with the room, which tilts more romantic than raucous and works as well for two as for a group taking over a corner of the garden.
Service runs in the evenings, roughly from seven until the early hours, and the garden fills fast in high season, so tables are best secured well ahead. Kalita takes reservations directly, including through Resy.
The address puts it within easy walking distance of the harbor, the windmills and the Matogianni shopping street, which makes it an easy anchor for a night that starts or ends deeper in Chora.
