Best Steakhouses in London (2026): The 7 Cuts Worth Booking
Our concierge shortlist of seven London steak-and-grill rooms we book for 2026, from an art deco Mayfair grill to a live-crab basement and a table on Level 32 of The Shard.
London's steak scene runs well beyond the classic chophouse, and for 2026 we book seven rooms where the grill and the setting both earn their keep. Our concierge shortlist spans an art deco Mayfair grill, Wolfgang Puck's Park Lane flagship, a live-crab basement off Oxford Street, and a room on Level 32 of The Shard. Each pick below links to its full page with everything you need before you commit. When one fits the night, tap through to reserve your own table on the venue's platform and we build the night around it.
34 Mayfair

34 Mayfair is Caprice Holdings' art deco grill on Grosvenor Square, part of Richard Caring's group behind Scott's, Sexy Fish, and Daphne's. It carries the group's glamour, polished service, and celebrity-friendly crowd, with a top-hatted doorman at the South Audley Street entrance and a jazz room alongside the grill. Martin Brudnizki designed the mid-century interior.
The Ivy

The Ivy on West Street is the original, the 1917 flagship at 1-5 West Street tucked between the Ambassadors and St Martin's theatres in Covent Garden. It is the room every later Ivy Cafe and Ivy Brasserie was built to echo, and after a century of writers, actors, and post-curtain regulars under its stained glass, a pre-theatre dinner here remains a quintessentially London way to open an evening.
CUT at 45 Park Lane

CUT at 45 Park Lane is Wolfgang Puck's first European restaurant, open on the ground floor of the Dorchester Collection's 45 Park Lane hotel since 2011 and a fixture of Mayfair's steak scene ever since. It reads as a modern American steakhouse reimagined for London: a low-lit, comfortably glamorous room wrapped in cream drapery, tan and oxblood leather seating, warm timber, and a run of Damien Hirst works.
Isabel Mayfair

Isabel Mayfair is the glamorous, low-lit dining-and-lounge room on Albemarle Street that A-listers, royals, and the yacht crowd have gravitated to since it opened in 2017, from the same Juan Santa Cruz world as Casa Cruz. It leans Latin and Mediterranean, theatrical and built to feel like an occasion, with a late bar for after dinner. The setting is a 1905 Beaux-Arts building, its interior mixing Art Deco and Chinoiserie detail with gold accents.
Beast

Beast is a carnivore's basement theatre at 3 Chapel Place, just off Oxford Street, reached by an elevator that descends past floor-to-ceiling tanks of live Norwegian red king crab hauled from the Barents Sea. The tanks set the premise: shellfish from the cold north, beef dry-aged in-house. It opened in April 2014 from the team behind Burger & Lobster and Goodman.
Oblix at The Shard

Oblix at The Shard sits on Level 32 of The Shard, where the draw is the panoramic sweep across central London and the kitchen holds its own against it. It comes from Rainer Becker, the chef-restaurateur behind Zuma and Roka, so the pedigree is familiar before you sit down. It suits the occasion nights: a milestone dinner, a first evening in the city, the anchor meal before a night out.
Nammos London

Nammos London is the Mykonos-born beach-club dining brand's UK debut and its first-ever city restaurant, opened at 15 Berkeley Street in Mayfair in May 2026. Spread across two floors of dining rooms, bars, and private space, it translates the Aegean original into an urban setting without losing the party. The look is warm Mediterranean glamour, with rattan and cane and arched timber screens.
