Oblix sits on Level 32 of The Shard, with a panoramic view across central London. It comes from Rainer Becker, the chef-restaurateur behind Zuma and Roka. It suits the occasion nights: a milestone dinner, a first evening in the city, the anchor meal before a night out.
The floor splits into two spaces that share the same skyline. Oblix West is the main dining room, a warm, earthy, serene space designed by Claudio Silvestrin with Becker around an open kitchen where the Josper oven, charcoal grill, and rotisserie run in full view. Oblix East is the bar and lounge side, with cocktails, live music and DJs, and afternoon tea behind the same floor-to-ceiling windows.
The cooking is international with a rotisserie-and-grill backbone. Look to the Josper-grilled black cod with jalapeno and lime, the half or whole rotisserie chicken with rosemary and roasted garlic, and steaks running from flat iron and rib-eye up to a wagyu tomahawk for the table. The seafood platter, built on oysters, jumbo prawns, and tuna tartare, is a signature.
Lunch is Wednesday to Friday from noon to 3pm, brunch Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3pm, and dinner daily from 6:00 to 10:30pm, with the bar open through the day. Oblix East does not admit under-16s after 6pm.
