Tape is a recording-studio-inspired hip-hop venue at 17 Hanover Square in Mayfair, built around an actual working recording studio, a members' lounge, and a restaurant. Matte black walls and neon-lit sound panels frame the room, which runs as a public nightclub space alongside Little Tape, a private members' area upstairs, so the crowd on any given night can mix members, their guests, and the wider public together.
The club opens Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 PM to 3:30 AM, and stays closed Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, a Little Tape after-party continues into the early hours for members. Music runs hip-hop and house with guest DJs, and the venue also hosts private events, album launches and artist showcases through its own events team, drawing on the recording studio next door.
Dress is smart and elegant: no gym wear, denim shorts, flat open-toe shoes or sunglasses, and management expects stylish footwear over anything casual. Physical photo ID is required at the door, and photocopies are not accepted.
