Academy LA is a dance club at 6021 Hollywood Boulevard, run by the event company Insomniac. DJ Mag ranked it No. 44 in its Top 100 Clubs poll for 2026 and lists its capacity at 1,000.
The ceiling is the feature. It is lined with 145 LED panels that change with each night's headliner, over a Funktion-One sound system and a lighting rig built to be reworked for the act on stage. Two small patios sit a few steps off the main room for anyone who needs air.
The club opens on Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 3 AM, with extra event nights on the calendar. The bookings are touring electronic acts; Korolova, Benny Benassi and Gryffin all played the room in the last year.
Off club nights, Academy hires out for private events across three spaces, including its outdoor patio.
Entry is 21 and over with a physical ID, and the dress code is enforced: no shorts, tank tops, sportswear, sandals or flip-flops, although DJ merch is allowed.
