A seasonal tasting menu at Row DTLA in downtown Los Angeles, with a shorter version at the bar.
Kato is a tasting-menu restaurant in the Row DTLA complex, at 777 S. Alameda Street in downtown Los Angeles, and it holds two MICHELIN stars in the 2026 California selection, which records the cuisine as Asian and contemporary. The kitchen sends out a single menu, described by the restaurant as focused on seasonality and innovation, to a dining room that seats by reservation.
There are two ways to eat here. The main dining room takes the full tasting menu at $325 per person. The bar serves an abbreviated version of the same menu at $185, and bar seats can also be booked for snacks and drinks rather than the whole progression; guests at the bar must be 21 or older.
Wine is poured in flights built to three different briefs. The traditional flight, at $145, pours a wine with each course from what the restaurant calls the best wine regions of the world. The vintage flight, at $185, is a curation with an emphasis on rarity and age. The bar team also builds an alcohol-free progression at $120. Corkage is $75 per 750ml bottle, to a maximum of two.
Dinner runs Wednesday through Sunday, and reservations for both the dining room and the bar are taken across an arrival window of 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, with a fifteen-minute grace period after the booked time. An 18 percent fair wage and operational fee is added to the bill, and the restaurant states that gratuity is neither necessary nor expected.
