David Chang's Momofuku restaurant in Chinatown, a former warehouse built for large-format sharing.
Majordomo is David Chang's Momofuku restaurant in Los Angeles, at 1725 Naud Street on the industrial edge of Chinatown. It opened in January 2018 as Chang's first Los Angeles restaurant, and it is listed in the MICHELIN Guide in the 2026 California selection.
The restaurant occupies a former warehouse and holds a chef's counter, a bar, a private dining room and a heated patio. The MICHELIN Guide review credits the open kitchen with the room's energy.
The menu is organized into raw, bing, salads and snacks, noodles and rice, meat and fish, large format and sides, with the biggest plates built for the table. Bing, the house bread, comes four ways, from ricotta with jam and chili crunch at $14 to smoked fish with creme fraiche at $16. The smoked bo ssam is pork shoulder with sesame leaf and condiments at $135 and feeds four to six, as does the whole plate short rib at $235, with ssam, condiments and beef rice. Boiled chicken arrives with rice, domojang and ginger scallion at $82.
Dinner runs Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm, and to 10:30 pm on Friday. Saturday and Sunday add a late-morning service from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, with dinner from 5:00 pm closing at 10:30 pm on Saturday and 10:00 pm on Sunday. The MICHELIN Guide describes online reservations here as hard to get. The heated patio seats up to 24 guests on a set menu built around the large-format bo ssam or the whole plate short rib, which needs 24 hours of notice.
