Somni · Restaurant · Los Angeles

Aitor Zabala's 20-plus course tasting menu at a 14-seat chef's counter in West Hollywood.
Somni is chef Aitor Zabala's tasting-menu restaurant at 9045 Nemo Street in West Hollywood, and it holds three MICHELIN stars in the 2026 California selection. The name means dream in Catalan, and the restaurant casts itself as the story of a Spaniard in America, spotlighting Zabala's Basque and Catalan roots. It began in 2018 in Beverly Hills as a single table for ten.
The restaurant describes the space as a tiny territory at the edge of West Hollywood, designed as an oasis of comfort: warm lights, wood and stone worked with ancient craftsmanship. A fountain nods to the sculptor Eduardo Chillida, panot tiles speak of Gaudi and Barcelona, and the entrance is called a sculptural wink. Art runs throughout, and a colorful bull's head from the original Beverly Hills room sits in the dining room.
Dinner is one seating a night: a tasting menu of more than twenty courses at a 14-seat communal chef's counter, $495 per guest, over two to two and a half hours. The evening opens with a few bites on the patio, weather depending, before continuing inside. Cooks serve and servers cook, so each course arrives from the hands that made it.
The counter takes parties of two and four, and reservations are released a month ahead. A private dining room beside the wine cellar seats up to six from 5:30 pm, with the same menu and the room for the night. On dress, the restaurant recommends business casual and asks guests to refrain from jeans, athletic wear, t-shirts, shorts and flip flops.
