Contemporary Latin with a hilltop valley view on Las Palmas
Simah is one of Medellin's most talked-about newer tables, a contemporary Latin restaurant set on the Las Palmas hillside above Casaloma, with a terrace that looks out over the whole valley. The view draws the eye first, but the kitchen holds its own.
The menu is modern and produce-driven, contemporary Latin cooking built on Colombian ingredients. Ceviche and the beef morrillo are dishes guests come back for, and the room suits special-occasion cooking built for a slow evening that runs from sunset into the city lights.
Between the elevated setting, the terrace and the plating, Simah has quickly become a go-to for a date night or a celebration in Medellin. The room is split between an interior and a terrace, and the terrace is the reason to time a booking for late afternoon and let the city light come up through the meal as the sky changes color over the valley below. The terrace is limited, so it books well ahead, especially at golden hour on a clear evening.
