Coastal Mediterranean dining at the Senna House Hotel in Old Town Scottsdale
Cala brings the Mediterranean coast to the middle of Old Town Scottsdale. Set on the ground floor of the Senna House Hotel, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, it takes its name from Cala Road, a tiny beach-cove street in Mallorca, and runs with that idea from the plate to the patio. The room is coastal ease in the desert: neutral colors, a spacious layout, and large sliding windows that let the dining room flow out to a patio with a 40-foot outdoor bar, a fireplace, lounge furniture, and cabanas. It reads relaxed by day and turns high-energy after dark, so it works as an anchor for a night in Old Town.
The kitchen is led by executive chef Clinton Lomayma, and the menu is a modern take on flavors from Greece, Spain, Italy, Morocco, and every stop along the Mediterranean coastline. Handmade pastas, fresh seafood, and artisanal hand-tossed pizzas are made in house daily.
Regulars come back for the Flaming Saganaki, lit with Greek brandy, the Rigatoni Wagyu Bolognese, and the Peruvian scallop crudo with mango aguachile. A full bar and a list of seasonal cocktails, from the Calajillo to the Peach Paradise, round out the table, and a DJ spins deep house and lounge music at weekend brunch.
Cala is open every day from 7 AM to 11 PM, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday, with the kitchen closing an hour before the bar. Dogs are welcome on the patio, and the space handles everything from a quiet weeknight dinner to a full weekend on the patio.
