Chef Marcellino Verzino grew up on a farm in Italy's Campania region, cooked his way through Rome and New York City, and has run this Scottsdale ristorante with his wife Sima for more than two decades. The result is Italian cooking with no shortcuts and no dilution, what the couple call cuisine alla Marcellino: fresh, seasonal, and unapologetically hand made.
The menu is built around handcrafted pastas rolled in house, immaculately balanced Mediterranean seafood, and a serious selection of carne and imported wild game, all steered by the season rather than a fixed formula. Beyond the regular carte, Chef Marcellino prepares a Chef's Personal Tasting menu and a Three Course Tasting menu for guests who want to hand the evening over to the kitchen, plus private-party menus for larger celebrations.
