Monarca is a Mexican-rooted supper club in Gastown at 181 Carrall Street, where an upscale dinner slides into a late night without anyone leaving the table. The kitchen works across ceviche, guacamole, hand-pressed tacos and premium steaks, including a shareable tomahawk platter and a raw bar, inside a dim, jungle-textured room that reads intimate early in the evening and turns electric later on.
The week has a real split. Monday and Tuesday the room is closed. Wednesday and Sunday run as the calmer dinner nights, five to eleven, the better window for a focused meal. Thursday through Saturday extend to 2 AM instead, as the kitchen gives way to DJs and a fuller floor.
Thursday is Provenza Thursdays, when Latin music takes over around 10 PM. Friday runs house and deep house DJs through the night, and Saturday is the full supper-club experience, with bottle service running alongside the kitchen so a group can hold one table from the first course straight into the later set.
