Elem is one of the boldest arrivals on Main Street, a restaurant and cocktail lab at 2110 Main from chef Vish Mayekar and the team behind Zarak. It landed on the Michelin Guide's recommended list in the 2025 guide, and critics have called it a distinctly un-Vancouver kind of dining experience: big flavors, global spice, and pitch-perfect technique on the plate.
Opened in November on Main and 5th, Elem earns its split billing. The drinks program is as considered as the kitchen, with element-inspired, sustainability-driven cocktails from Winnie Sun set against a striking room. Chef Mayekar's menu is an exploration of flavour and spice from Bangkok to California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai, all filtered through his extensive travels and his Indian heritage.
