Loft 22 occupies the second floor above a Hubbard Street restaurant and is arranged as four connected spaces rather than a single room, which makes it unusually flexible for a late-night venue.
The Atrium is the main space, running under a full-length skylight with a backlit wall installation, a stage for DJs and live bands, and high-top seating; it takes groups from twenty up to around a hundred and fifty. The Galleria is the softer room, with a pool table, a fireplace, deep couches, artwork and vintage records. The Terrazza runs along accordion-style windows that open through the summer and seats smaller groups of twenty-five to thirty. A separate private dining room holds up to twenty behind floor-to-ceiling drapery.
Programming covers DJ sets, live bands, vinyl sessions and jazz, and the house photography is shot in black and white, which tells you something about how the room sees itself. It opens late on Friday and Saturday.
