Set in a discreet Lincoln Park townhouse on North Halsted, it is the flagship of the Alinea Group founded by chef Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas, and it has spent more than a decade rewriting what dinner can be.
The restaurant currently holds two Michelin stars. It carried three from 2011 through 2024 before easing to two in the 2025 Guide, which tells you exactly how high the bar sits here even after the shift - this is still one of the most decorated kitchens in North America.
