One-Michelin-star modern American cooking with Danish touches on West Randolph Street
Elske is the West Loop restaurant at 1350 West Randolph Street from chefs and owners David and Anna Posey, and it holds one Michelin star. Guests choose between a set menu at $145 and an a la carte menu served family style, and the whole table orders the same way. The current set menu moves from crispy Danish polser with pickles and remoulade and a grilled oyster with pickled garlic scape to a duck liver tart with salted ramp and toasted buckwheat, then grilled flat iron with carrots and morita. A la carte, look for tuna tartare with nduja and knackebrod, frikadeller sausage with pickled beets, and a malted chocolate mousse with beer vinegar caramel. Wine and juice pairings are offered, and the bar serves both menus.
Dinner is served Thursday through Monday, and the restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The largest table in the main dining room seats six, and counter-style bar seats can be reserved on OpenTable.
