Chicago Cut Steakhouse sits on the Chicago River at 300 North LaSalle in River North, and it is recommended in the Michelin Guide. The kitchen works with USDA-certified prime beef that is butchered and dry-aged on site for 35 days, so the cut on the plate started in this building.
The dining room looks out over the river, with a lively bar framed by wine display cases, red velvet banquettes and spacious tables. In warm months a sprawling patio along the riverside draws diners from lunch well into the evening, and the global wine list is presented at the table on an iPad.
The steak list runs from an eight-ounce center barrel cut filet mignon to a 26-ounce bone-in rib eye, a 32-ounce bone-in prime rib and a 32-ounce porterhouse for two. Seafood includes Chilean sea bass with miso glaze and Dover sole, and sides include lobster mac and cheese, hash browns and creamed spinach.
Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 10:30 AM, lunch runs until 3:00 PM (starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday), and dinner runs from 3:00 to 11:00 PM Monday through Saturday, so it works for an early meeting, a long lunch or a late steak. It is a riverfront dinner that opens a River North night.
