Stephanie Izard's playful Fulton Market Chinese-American slap noodle house
Duck Duck Goat is Stephanie Izard's Fulton Market riff on Chinese-American cooking, built with Boka Restaurant Group and easily one of the most fun tables in the neighborhood. The draw is the handwork: hand-pulled slap noodles, dumplings made in-house, and a walk-up Baobing Bar window turning out shaved ice.
The dining room is kitschy and loud, channeling a vintage Hong Kong parlor in its color and clutter, and it clearly does not take itself too seriously. It is the rare Chinese-American room that reads as a destination rather than a default, playful on the surface and precise underneath.
Order the Dan Dan Slap Noodles first, hand-pulled and built for the table. The Xi'an Goat Slap Noodles bring more heat and swagger, the Mapo Doufu delivers the numbing-spice payoff, and the Duck Fried
