LH Rooftop sits atop LondonHouse Chicago, the 1923 Beaux-Arts London Guarantee and Accident Building designed by Alfred S. Alschuler, at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive in the Loop. It spreads across three levels: LH on 21, the indoor bar and kitchen; LH on 22, the open-air terrace; and a private cupola on the 23rd floor, set inside the building's original dome. From up here the Chicago River and the Magnificent Mile open out below, and guests sit nearly eye to eye with the Wrigley Building clock.
Executive Chef Elizabeth Sweeney's kitchen leans into shareable plates, from beef tenderloin skewers and tuna tartare to the LH Classic Burger, while the bar turns out signature cocktails, an espresso martini, spritzes and Champagne by the glass up to Dom Perignon. Live music plays indoors on the 21st floor, and weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2:30pm in the indoor lounge.
It draws both visitors and locals, and it is a natural pick for a date night or an anniversary. The rooftop is open daily from 11am to midnight, with kitchen and bar service until 11pm. Reservations run through Tock and are worth making, though walk-ins are welcome when space allows.
