Rooftop lounge 27 stories above the Loop at theWit, a Hilton hotel on State Street
ROOF on theWit is the rooftop lounge 27 stories above the Loop at theWit, a Hilton hotel on State Street. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city skyline, and a retractable roof over a climate-controlled space keeps it running year-round.
The look is expressive and high-design, with an artisan wall of contemporary digital art and low lounge seating, and the mood shifts from early-evening cocktails to a DJ-driven scene after dark. Live DJs play Wednesday through Sunday, mixing mainstream dance, top 40, Latin, house and select hip hop, while quieter lounge rooms stay set up for conversation. The kitchen, led by chefs Armando Diaz and David Danielson, sends out dishes built for sharing, from tavern-style pizzas to shellfish tacos, and the bar pours inventive cocktails.
On Friday and Saturday after 9pm, and all day Sunday, ROOF is 21 and over. The dress code is Summertime Casual with a dress-to-impress edge, strictly enforced at the door on Friday and Saturday after 8pm and all day Sunday.
Reservations run through SevenRooms and are strongly encouraged: they are not required to get in, but they secure seating and priority entry.
