Best Mexican Restaurants in Las Vegas 2026
The best Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas for 2026: Toca Madera, Casa Playa and Cantina Contramar on the Strip, plus Javier's and the off-Strip local winner.
Why we wrote this guide
Las Vegas does Mexican two ways: the high-design, high-energy Strip rooms where dinner is also a scene, and the honest off-Strip spots the locals actually drive to. This is our guide to the best Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas in 2026, the rooms we book for our own guests plus the ones worth knowing even though we do not handle the reservation.
Looking for the table, not the reading? Tell us the night and the group and we will point you at the right room.
The Strip rooms we book
Toca Madera (Crystals)
The high-energy modern Mexican room, more scene than most of the list but a genuinely fun, very good night out. Plant-forward plates and serious steaks share a menu built for a table that wants to order big. Go for the queso fundido, the crispy A5 wagyu tacos, the Mayan prawns in chipotle mezcal butter, and the flaming wagyu tomahawk. See Toca Madera.
Best for: the celebration dinner that already feels like a night out.
Casa Playa (Encore)
Wynn's coastal-Mexican room at Encore, and the most refined Mexican dinner on the Strip: a lighter, seafood-forward take done with the Wynn service standard, in a room that feels like a getaway. The pick when you want Mexican as a proper special-occasion dinner, not a party. See Casa Playa.
Best for: the refined, coastal, special-occasion Mexican dinner.
Cantina Contramar (Fontainebleau)
The Las Vegas outpost of Contramar, the landmark Mexico City seafood restaurant, at the Fontainebleau. Coastal Mexican cooking with real pedigree: the tuna tostada and the pescado a la talla that made the original famous, in a bright, modern room. Still building its Vegas brand, which is exactly why it is one of the best tables to get now. See Cantina Contramar.
Best for: the guest who knows the Mexico City original, or wants coastal Mexican with a serious kitchen.
Worth knowing (we do not book these)
Two more belong on an honest Vegas Mexican list even though we do not handle the reservation.
Javier's at Aria is the classic, clubby Mexican room on the Strip, known for its guacamole, its margaritas, and a carved-wood dining room that stays packed. It is one of the tougher Mexican reservations in town, so book it directly and book it early.
La Mojarra Loca Grill (off-Strip) is the local winner: the off-Strip mariscos spot the city actually drives to for real Mexican seafood, away from the Strip prices and the scene. If you want the honest version, not the design-forward one, this is the move. Book it directly.

How the booking works
We book Toca Madera, Casa Playa, and Cantina Contramar directly, and our hosts handle the timing, the right table, and any celebration setup.
